![]() ![]() TL DR: Do you like playing Standard and losing on coinflip margins? If you don’t, the Scarlet skin is not for you.Runestone Keeper is a challenging roguelike to roguelite dungeon crawler that blends classic role playing elements and turn-based combat strategy.ĭive into the dungeon roguelite-ness and begin your very own epic adventure! Grab your rucksack, sharpen those dusty swords, step into the dark chamber and fight for glory! If Blizzard really, really wanted their pound of flesh, they could have simply made the skin more accessible by “Play three games” instead of “Win three games”, but apparently there’s enough rubes to fleece where folks somehow don’t have the resources to make functioning decks and yet have the gold to spare on an even worse risk-reward ratio. Imagine being the guy who has to run a budget deck in a ruthless format with little room for error or terrible luck – or the saps running the first two decks I ran across. It was an experience, but the idea of knowing that at any point you could just go 0, 1 or 2 wins and 3 losses was absolutely unpleasant. I got my 3 wins after losing to Evolve Shaman mirror match, Blood Death Knight, and won the next 3 matches against (of all things) Death Knight running nothing but Core neutrals like Chillwind Yeti and Cairne Bloodhoof, Dragon Druid running Amber Whelp and Twilight Drake, and a Blood Death Knight who got steamrolled with double Tiny Toys + Convincing Disguise. But at the steep cost of 1,000 gold, plus the tempting offer of an exclusive cosmetic with no free entry for folks to experiment with and feel out the meta? Now that’s just cruel. Coming on the heels of a new balance patch when things are shaken up as folks try to figure out what the best decks and lists are again? Sure, it’d keep things interesting. I can’t help but feel this is both the best and worst time to dangle Heroic Brawliseum in front of players again. We will be adding more 12 wins decks here as the Brawl progresses and more people reach that score. If you don’t like any of them so far, a good option will be any strong, meta deck, so feel free to check out our Standard decks page. ![]() Here are some decks that have reached 12 wins in this Tavern Brawl. The only exception is playing until 3 wins if you REALLY want the Death Knight skin, but you need to weigh the risk of possibly having to do multiple runs yourself. Unless you’re a really skilled, high Legend player – you will most likely lose more than you gain. Long story short – I don’t recommend participating in this Brawl for the majority of players. The good news is that you only need to win 3 matches and it doesn’t have to be in a single run, so technically you could get it even if your win rate is very low. The only reason for an average player to enter right now is the extra Death Knight skin. ![]() But similarly, I recommend trying only if you’re a really skilled player, preferably someone who consistently hits Legend. So if you already have all of the cards from the current set that you wanted, more packs will only give you extra dust, and that’s not perfect.Īs for the real money entry – obviously, if you have a lot of spare money and that’s how you want to spend it, then no one will stop you. One issue, however, is that you get packs from the current expansion, while most players already own a big portion of it and would rather save for the next set (or the mini-set, which should be released within the next few weeks). But if you can consistently get to at least 5 wins OR get to 12 at least once (one 12 wins is worth over 10 entries assuming you disenchant the Golden Legendaries), then it’s a really good deal. Statistically, ~3/4 of players will finish between 0 and 4 wins. An average score is 3-3 – so an okay player won’t even get their gold back, let alone win something more. Realistically, you need 5 wins to break even (with a small extra reward). Is Heroic Brawliseum worth spending 1000 Gold? There’s really no right or wrong answer because it all depends on your skill level. Rewards + Should You Play Heroic Brawliseum?
